This year窶冱 CanWeld Conference takes place over 2 days, with 2 additional days of optional pre and post conference events. Please note that the conference proper is held on Day 2 and 3 (dates) to coincide with the CanWeld Expo which is being held at the same time at the Convention Centre.

General Structure of the Conference

CanWeld Events

CanWeld Conference is comprised of a number of events, including activities that tie together the conference and expo portions. Here窶冱 a quick overview of what you can look forward to in the three main parts of the conference: The Sessions, The Solutions Lab and the Connect Zone.

The Sessions

This year窶冱 CanWeld Conference will have 5 tracks with over 60 speakers from across the industry. Sessions are geared towards the application of technology, equipment and knowledge to provide solutions to real world problems.

The Solutions Lounge

Conference attendees get exclusive access to the CanWeld Solutions Lounge, a place to find people, answers and business.

The Canadian Fabrication Capacity Network (CFCN)
Launching at the conference, the CFCN will provide enrolment in and access to a database of Canadian fabricating companies, their Locations, services offered, capacities, and availability for work. Being part of the CFCN is free perk for conference attendees only.

Elevator Pitches
Have something interesting to tell the industry? 窶 you might win a chance to tell everyone about it窶ヲ CanWeld窶冱 first annual elevator pitch competition is open to anyone with a compelling story to tell. Send us a note outlining your pitch and a panel of judges will review it. The best, most intriguing pitches get time at the conference to present their story to the attendees, with the top pitchperson going home with an award.

End-of-Day Mixer
Join us in the conference area at the end of each day to meet conference attendees, vendors and speakers. Previous CanWeld conference have proven to be good for making business connections and hatching deals, don窶冲 miss your opportunity.
Poster Presentations
Each year CanWeld has been happy to facilitate Dissertation Poster presentations from around the world 窶 this year is no different. While in the Connect Zone be sure to make some time to drop by the poster displays and talk to the industry窶冱 up and coming. Looking to submit a poster presentation?

The OffRamp
Traveling to the conference with a significant other or looking to schedule some time around town after the event? CanWeld along with the local tourism board have arranged a number of off-site opportunities. A quick 15-minute preview of that day窶冱 speakers and activities. A great way to get organized for the day.
Daily Round Table and Employment Round Table
A roundtable panel discussion with key speakers discussing common industry issues. Our roving Mr. Microphone allows you to have your say, fielding comments and questions to the panel.
The Annual Industry Night Dinner (tickets required)

The Annual Foundation Gala (tickets required)
Started in 2015, and organized by the CWA Foundation, this casual evening event and dinner celebrates students, educators and supporters within Canada窶冱 welding and fabricating industry. What to know who the future leaders in our industry will be 窶 attend and find out.
CWB Group 窶廝ureau窶 Town Hall (pre-registration required)
An open meeting for CWB Group clients to discuss issues directly with CWB Group staff. This event includes presentation of 窶彙ureau窶 business, service models and fees, changes in codes and standards, enforcement activities, as well as an open floor question period.
